About Natasha Nast

Ms. Natasha teaches all upper level ballet (I-IV and pointe) on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Where were you born? Baltimore, Md.

Do you have any siblings? Yes! I have two older brothers.

If you didn’t teach dance, what would you do? Psychology or physical therapy. I really like working with people.

What is your favorite season? Autumn

If you had free tickets to any show what would you choose? Moulin Rouge on Broadway and Christopher Wheeldon’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

If you could have an endless supply of any food, what would it be? The chicken tikka masala from Salem’s in Pittsburgh, PA. It’s seriously the BEST.

What is your favorite dance-related memory? Performing in the full-length production of La Bayadere with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre back in 2015. There was a moment in the final act of the ballet where all of the 24 corps de ballet women who had just finished dancing a particularly difficult adagio section together as Shades split to stand in two lines on either side of the stage. As soon as the orchestra quieted down, the audience, on opening night especially, went absolutely wild for us. It was pretty cool. It’s not every day that the corps de ballet gets that kind of recognition or appreciation. Definitely a very special, magical moment for me that I, and I’m sure many of the other corps de ballet women from that production, will never forget.

What is your favorite music genre? Classic and alternative rock

What was your favorite Halloween costume as a kid? Wonder Woman! My grandmother handmade it for me when I was maybe 6 or 7 years old.

Are you a listener or a talker? Both! It depends on the situation.
