Lowcountry Youth Ballet Company Upcoming Holiday Performances

Charleston Dance Center’s Lowcountry Youth Ballet Company (LYBC) will be performing several holiday shows in the Charleston area.

On Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 11 a.m., the company will be performing at Principle Gallery Charleston. The Principle Gallery is located at 125 Meeting St. The performance will include “Sugar Plum,” “Russian” and “Mother Ginger” from the Nutcracker. Tickets are $45 and include food, shopping and more. A portion of the proceeds will go to LYBC to purchase a portable dance floor.

“One of our goals is to bring dance to the community,” explains Andrea de Vries Snyder, LYBC director. “With a portable dance floor we can take dance performances anywhere – to hospitals, schools, festivals and more. Having a portable dance floor will open the door for many opportunities to reach out to the community through dance.”

The LYBC will also be performing on Sunday, December 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the Holiday Festival of Lights at the James Island County Park. The performance is included with admission to the Festival of Lights. This will be a holiday show with dancers performing to “Christmas Don’t Be Late,” “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas,” “Santa Baby,” and “All I Want for Christmas is You.”
