That sums up this past weekend of master classes with nationally-known technique instructor Amy Schulke of Just Plain Dancin’ & Co. in Corona, Cali.
Wow. Our senior and junior companies completed a three-hour class with Amy.
Wow. Amy’s famous conditioning class.
Wow. The time and dedication Amy gave our dancers.
Wow. The positive changes we can already see.
“Because of Amy’s experience working with so many levels of dance all over the country, she truly knows how to relate to the dancers and work from their ability and push them to the next level,” Ms. Buffi says. “I’ve seen our dancers improve in one day with Amy. It’s truly amazing.”
All Just Dance! Competition teams participated in the master classes, which focused on jazz technique and conditioning. Many dancers also had one-on-one lessons with Amy to further refine their skills.
Master classes are an opportunity for our dancers to learn from leading dance artists from around the nation. The advanced classes go beyond the instruction given during normal classes or rehearsals. We select instructors that we think our competition dancers will benefit from the most.
Amy’s studio, Just Plain Dancin’, has been ranked the No. 1 competitive studio in the U.S. by Dance Magazine in addition to many other accolades. Like Charleston Dance Center, it is family-owned. Amy’s mother Terry Schulke and sister Mandy, travel all over the U.S. to teach at studios and conventions.
We had an incredible weekend with Amy, both inside the studio and out. Look for Amy back at Charleston Dance Center in summer 2017!
