Just Dancers Compete at JUMP Dance Convention

Nearly 20 Just Dance! company members traveled to Greenville, S.C. to take convention classes and compete in the regional JUMP Dance Convention.

“It was an amazing competition and the talent at this event was unreal!” Lindsey Gentry says. “We had so much fun seeing our dance friends all together in one place and Just Dance! had a great event!”

barids-jumpClasses were held all day Saturday and Sunday, giving dancers the opportunity to learn from some of the very best teachers in the nation. As part of the convention, dancers auditioned for scholarships to future JUMP conventions.

Competition

JUMP was an optional competition/convention for Just Dance! and we had 13 soloists and 3 groups competing.

“The Leaving Song” won first overall for the Junior Group category.

“Jerusalem” won third overall in the Teen Extended Line category.

Junior Soloists: Lana Baird 4th overall.

Teen Soloists: Macy Roberts and Jade Boerman tied for 10th overall.

Senior Soloists: Glynn King 7th, Gracen Nelson and Allie Horres 8th, Alden King 9th, Abby Haynes 10th.

This competition marked the debut of Chad McCall’s choreography for the 2016-17 dance season. Earlier this year, he spent a weekend working on eight solos and two group dances.

The remaining five solos and group dance were choreographed by Ms. Lindsey.
