Studio Policies

To ensure a positive, respectful, and enriching environment, we ask all dancers and families to follow Charleston Dance Center’s studio policies. These guidelines help create a space where every dancer can thrive. Below is a summary of our core rules and expectations. Full policies can be found in the official 2025–2026 Parent Contract.

General Studio Rules & Expectations

All dancers and families are responsible for reading and understanding the complete Parent Contract, but here are key highlights:

  • Arrive on time and dressed according to your class dress code.
  • Consistent attendance is expected. Frequent absences may affect recital participation.
  • Prompt pickup is required. Repeated late pickups may result in additional fees.
  • Food, snacks, and gum are not allowed in studios. Water only.
  • Cell phones must be silenced and stored during class.
  • Respect is non-negotiable—for teachers, classmates, and studio property.

Family & Visitor Guidelines

We love our dance families and want to maintain a safe and focused environment for all:

  • Lobby viewing monitors are available for Studio A & B. Please enjoy observing from there.
  • No in-studio observation unless invited by staff. Unauthorized entry may result in restricted access.
  • We expect respectful behavior from all parents, siblings, and guests.
  • Disruptive or aggressive behavior may result in removal from the studio community.

Attendance, Punctuality & Pick-Up Protocols

Attendance, Tardiness & Class Cancellations

  • Students arriving more than 15 minutes late may be asked to observe instead of participate for safety reasons.
  • Classes may be canceled due to low attendance (fewer than six dancers).
  • Consistent attendance ensures your dancer stays on track and the class remains productive.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up Policy

  • Dancers may not be dropped off more than 15 minutes before class starts.
  • Please pick up promptly after class. While our front desk is staffed, CDC cannot supervise dancers after their scheduled class time.
  • Timely drop-off and pickup are essential for dancer safety and studio efficiency.
