Date & Location

Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 8, 2024, and head over to Charleston Dance Center located at 1757 Savannah Hwy., Charleston, SC 29407. Auditions will kick off at various times based on age groups, so make sure you arrive on time!

Audition Times

  • Ages 5-7 yrs: 9:00 am – 10:00 am (Mini Mini Auditions)
  • Ages 8-10 yrs: 10:30 am – 11:30 am (Collective Auditions)
  • Ages 11 & up: 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm (Collective Auditions)
  • Ages 8-11 yrs: 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm (Company Auditions)
  • Ages 12 & up: 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm (Company Auditions)

Audition Cost

Audition cost is $25 per dancer.

Dancers can register & pay online here, or pay in-person.

What to Expect

Audition Process

Whether you’re a new face or a returning dancer, everyone is required to audition. Each dancer is assigned a number and a group. Charleston Dance Center faculty will teach dancers a combo and give dancers an opportunity to practice.

Dancers will audition in small groups in front of a panel of local judges who are not affiliated with Charleston Dance Center. No feedback is given.

It is important that dancers take the audition seriously, but it should not be a stressful experience.

Dancer Attire

Most dancers will wear a leotard (no tights necessary) or other form fitting dance attire. Most dancers will have very light make-up and hair pulled back from the face.

Dancers auditioning for Mini Mini and Collective teams should wear jazz shoes, half-soles, or barefoot if they choose. Dancers auditioning for Company should be prepared for various styles of dance.

Parent Information

While parents aren’t allowed in the audition room, they can wait in the parking lot. Rest assured, we’ll keep them updated on audition results via email within one week.

Post-Audition Plans

Just Dance! Company dancers are required to attend summer intensives, which will be held August 5-9, 2024. Just Dance! Collective dancers are required to attend boot camp, which will be held August 6-8 , 2024.
