As part of Charleston Dance Center’s 25-year celebration, we’re excited to shine a light on some of the amazing alumni who have shaped our studio’s legacy. To kick off this special celebration, we’re thrilled to feature Kedrick Pasley, who danced with us from 2003 to 2012. His journey from Charleston Dance Center to the bright lights of Las Vegas is nothing short of inspiring!
A Journey from Charleston to Las Vegas
After leaving Charleston Dance Center, Kedrick pursued his education at South Carolina State University, earning a BFA in Mass Communications. He didn’t just excel in academics—he took on the role of Spike the Bulldog, the university mascot, and became a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
From there, Kedrick’s career soared as he moved to Orlando, Florida, where he worked for Disney, Universal, and various production companies. His talent opened doors to appearances in television shows, commercials, and even the Super Bowl LV Halftime Show. Now based in Las Vegas, Kedrick’s impressive resume includes performing in the iconic Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque du Soleil, and his current starring role in Discoshow.
Inspired by David Mancuso’s legendary Loft parties, Discoshow is an immersive journey through the disco era of downtown New York City. As one of the main characters, Kedrick gets to fulfill his dream of both acting and dancing on stage. Living on the West Coast has always been his goal, and he’s thrilled to finally be living that dream.
“Discoshow is my second Vegas residency. I’m having the time of my life out here.”

Lessons Learned as a Just Dancer
Reflecting on his time at Charleston Dance Center, Kedrick shares a valuable lesson that has shaped his approach to life and his career: “If you want it, you gotta go for it. No one can want it more than you.” He credits his instructors and fellow Just Dancers with teaching him to stay accountable, never become complacent, and to always push for more. “If you don’t use it, you lose it,” he adds—wise words for any dancer.
Advice for Future Dancers
For today’s dancers at Charleston Dance Center, Kedrick has some golden advice: “Stay true to yourself. You’re the only you. Don’t compare yourself to others, and always remember your ‘why.’” He also reminds current students to savor their time at the studio because, as he says, “those are some of the best years of your life.” And, of course, his parting words: “HAVE FUN! #JD4LIFE.”
A Memorable Moment at J.D.
When asked about his most memorable memory as a Just Dancers, Kedrick shared, “I have SO many favorite memories during my time at JD, but the most special one was my sophomore year at Hollywood Vibe. That was my first year doing a solo, and it was an improv solo. Buffi gave me 3 song choices, but I didn’t know what song was going to play until I got on stage. I remember being so nervous pacing back and forth in the wings. I started with my back to the audience and when I turned around, I saw my face over and over again. The studio surprised me with “Ked Heads”. I dropped my jaw, busted out laughing and felt a sense of relief. From there I did my thing on stage and placed first! I still have my “Ked Head” to this day”.
Thank you J.D. for everything! Providing a fun, safe, and judge free environment. I definitely miss my studio days and am grateful for y’all having a part in shaping me to be the man I am today!
