Charleston Pom Dance Clinic:Train with Recent Clemson Rally Cat

Pom is one of the fastest-growing, most competitive styles in dance. Whether you dream of joining a collegiate spirit squad or just want to sharpen your skills, pom offers dancers the chance to combine power, precision, and performance.

At Charleston Dance Center, we know how important pom is for today’s dancers, especially those considering college dance teams like the USC The Carolina Dance Team, Clemson Rally Cats, or other NCAA programs. That’s why we’re offering a special training opportunity:

Lyndi Reid, Clemson Rally Cat Alumna ’25

Clinic Schedule

Saturdays, September 6–20

• Ages 4-10: 10:00 – 10:45 AM ($60)
• Ages 11 & Older: 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM ($95)

Why Pom Training Matters

Many collegiate teams now require dancers to perform a pom routine as part of their audition process. Candidates are expected to have previous pom experience, and auditions often include skill demonstrations, jazz/pom combinations, and technical elements like:

  • Multiple pirouettes (triples, quads, quints)
  • A la seconde turn combinations
  • Switch leaps and toe touches
  • High-energy pom combinations with sharp motions, stamina, and precision

Without real pom training, these requirements can feel overwhelming. That’s where our pom clinics come in.

Why Train Pom at Charleston Dance Center?

At CDC, we believe that experience matters, especially when it comes to collegiate prep. That’s why our pom clinics are led by Lyndi Reid, a Clemson Rally Cat alumna who graduated in May 2025.

  • Fresh, Relevant Experience – Lyndi knows exactly what today’s college dance coaches are looking for, because she just went through it herself.
  • Local Connections – As a South Carolina native and Clemson Rally Cat, Lyndi trained under and alongside the very coaches who still lead collegiate programs across the state. CDC also maintains strong ties to the Clemson Rally Cat coaching staff and multiple Carolina Dance Team alumni, connections that give our dancers an inside edge.
  • The Edge Parents Want – Many studios may offer pom classes, but few can provide direct collegiate insight, mentorship, and pathways that prepare dancers for real auditions for South Carolina teams. At CDC, your dancer isn’t just learning sharp motions and combos, they’re getting a head start on their future.
